Welcome to the Great Falls Balloon Festival. This year our festival is filled with great delights - wonderful performances, free events, and lots of fun - as well as workshops, master classes and informative demonstrations.
It is a special year for us, one in which we have focused on the Great Falls Balloon Festival mission not only to bring nationally and internationally renowned artists into our midst, but to give back to the community through free events and community partnerships designed to showcase local artists.
The Great Falls Balloon Festival is set to enrapture festival lovers once again. Our venue will leave you fascinated, captivated and enthralled. With performances ranging from classic to contemporary, traditional to avant-garde, each act will inspire you to greater heights.

The Great Falls Balloon Festival
The Great Falls Balloon Festival, going strong since 1993, takes to the skies above Lewiston. One of the largest such festivals in New England it attracts 100,000 visitors over the weekend to see balloons over Arniston and Auburn and enjoy a packed program of entertainment and non-balloon-related activities for all ages.
Each year, in addition to the 45 to 50 balloons that come to join the aerial festivities, there are special balloons. Lift-off takes place each morning, with entertainment starting in the early afternoon. If the weather permits, evening lift-offs are also arranged. A popular highlight is the "moon glow", when balloonists light their burners, partially fill their balloons and negotiate a tethered lift-off.
